At Katoomba, the three sisters look out over the imposing Mount Solitary, while Pearsons lookout at Lithgow provides unforgettable vistas of Capertee Valley, one of the widest canyons in the world A visit to the fabulous Jenolan Caves with their magnificent limestone formations is an absolute must and Kanangra Boyd National Park features some of the largest cliffs in the country.
For millions of years water has carved out the rugged sandstone of the region. Today, mountain streams tumble over the escarpment producing beautiful waterfalls. From the bottom of the scenic railway, trails lead to the base of Katoomba Falls, in a beautiful rainforest gully surrounded by magnificent trees. Views of Bridal Veil Falls are spectacular on the walk from Govetts Leap to Evans lookout.
