The Hunter Valley is booming! Strong corporate and leisure occupancies, a host of food and wine events combined with a string of international concert acts has resulted in strong development for a number of the Hunter’s key tourism operators.
The Hunter Valley has long been an iconic tourism destination and has recently seen strength in its development with the addition of new accommodation, wineries, restaurants, and attractions.
A brand new age care facility is set to open in 2010 in Lower Hunter Valley that will be called Macquarie Place. Designed and suited perfectly for the elderly it is the perfect place for retirement. Boasting a number of freehold sites, nursing care unit, bowls green, cinema, shops, cafe and much more, it is set to be a tranquil and peaceful setting with many benefits included.
The Pokolbin district, in the heart of the New South Wales Hunter Valley Wine Region, is now set to permanently overcome the threat of drought and its devastating effects. Thanks to the development of an $8 million drought proofing infrastructure scheme, some 350 property owners within the Private Irrigation District will have year-round access to irrigation water pumped direct from the Hunter River.
There is also a brand new development proposal that is going to be a major investment commitment for the Hunter Valley Region, as well as the Lovedale and Greta areas. It proposes a new vineyard, international PGA-standard golf course, tourist resort with hotel and apartment accommodation, residential homes clustered around the golf course, sports facilities and an area set aside for future commercial and educational development.
Along with these and many new other individual establishments that are privately owned and operated the Hunter Valley is fast becoming a place of interest to many business people. With nearby cities such as Sydney and Newcastle there is the draw card of a plentiful supply of resources that are always one hand both in the Hunter Valley and in the larger cities.
