From all kinds of water sports including fishing, diving, swimming, snorkelling, boating, fish feeding and glass bottom boat rides just to name a few. There is also some great hiking and bushwalk adventures that you can embark on and many tour operators organise round the island trips where you can relax on a luxury vessel as you take in the sights of the island. Fish feeding is one of the main attractions of the island as you can just wade up to your knees at Neds Beach with a couple of bits of bread and you are suddenly swarmed by hundreds of fish.
Anyone that has their diving certificate you must check out some of the world class diving spots that are located just off the shores of Lord Howe Island. From bommies, caves and cavernous gorgeous you can go exploring for as long you like. The coral gardens are something out of a postcard and the brightly colour fish are amazing. These waters are visited by thousands of avid divers every year as it is regarded as one of the best dive spots in Australia.
Come night time the island still doesn’t sleep, with regular entertainment to enjoy and bars and restaurants to enjoy... why would you want to go to bed! You can party on into the night with great music, great company all compliment with tropical backdrop.
On the island there is a limit to the amount of cars that are allowed, so if you are wanting to hire your own car you must organise it straight away. But quite honesty, the island is just too beautiful to see it from a car, so hire a bike and get around that way. There really is never much ground to cover as the island is only 11km long and 2km wide.
Getting to Lord Howe Island is easy... all you need to do is make your way to either Brisbane or Sydney and from here it is just a two hour flight to the island. When you land you will be greeted by a courtesy bus that will take you directly to your place of accommodation.
