Perisher Valley will have everything you are wanting out of your exciting snow holiday. Located in the Kosciusko National Park, Perisher Blue is only a 2 and a half hour drive south of Canberra and a 6 hour drive from Sydney. Once you reach Jindabyne, which is the gateway to the mountains, you are only then 33kms away from your destination and the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere. From your Perisher Valley accommodation it is only 1.5km to Smiggins Holes which is a great favourite for families and for people just starting out with snow skiing for the first time.
While visiting Perisher Valley you can choose from a variety of activities and not all of them are to do with snow. If you holiday in the winter months you can decide to go tobogganing, horse riding, snow shoeing, hiking through rugged terrain or charging down the slopes on a mountain bike. In the summer months take a long guided or self-guided walk along one of the many trails through the Snowy Mountains taking in the spectacular views that the National Park has to offer.
Every types of accommodation will be on offer to your for you to take your pick from. From deluxe apartments, lodges, villas, hotels, motels, resorts and superior suites, everyone’s tastes is catered for with nothing left to chance.
Air, Coach or Self-drive are the three different ways you can access Perisher Valley. Most of the airlines will service the Canberra Airport in NSW, from all the major Australian cities. And then from here you will just need to catch a connecting flight to the Cooma Airport and then get a seat on the Snowy Mountains Express Shuttle that will take you to your accommodation. But you are probably looking to completely relax for the entire time of you holiday so book a seat on one of the major bus companies that travel through the Snow Mountains and let someone else do the driving while you take in the splendour of the Snowy Mountains. And lastly you can also hire a car if you don't already have one from Europcar and then navigate you way through the beautiful Kosciusko National Park to Jindabyne which is only 33km from Perisher Valley. Overnight parking at Perisher Valley, Smiggins Holes, Charlottes Pass and Blue Cow may be limited to when you are booking your holiday please be sure to ask if it is allowed as very few properties offer onsite parking for their guests. It is recommended that you use the Skitube, a convenient train ride which is situated outside the National Park and approximately 20 kilometres from Jindabyne via the Alpine Way.
