Ulladulla to this day remains hardly untouched from development but with the growing number of business that are seeing this area as a hot spot for construction, the council has been forced to re-assess the current high rise building guidelines. In recent years there was nothing to go over two storeys but now with new Urban Design apartment buildings with a height limit of 5 storeys could soon be a common site around the harbour foreshores.

The Ulladulla community has experienced a recent swath of proposals and development applications in the CBD and harbour area. With the entire town being based around the current harbour many people see this site as a great site for new businesses to grow in the area. From here this is where the Ulladulla Harbour Concept Plan has come about.

Along with the new plans for the harbour there are also to be new high rise buildings to be built surrounding the harbour with will be for both leasing and residential purposes, which in turn will attract a stronger market to the region.

With the rapid growth in residential developments on the South Coast and a dramatic increase in the number of permanent residents over the last 10 years or so, many quieter country-style roads of towns like Burrill Lake, Ulladulla, Mollymook and Milton are now coping with a marked increase in traffic flow.

So to cope with the growing amount of traffic within Ulladulla many new roads are being upgraded as well as being turned into four lane highways to cope with many cars that pass along these roads each day.

Proposals for further development of the area are currently under consideration and it is understood that approval for a tavern on the old service station at Burrill Lake has been granted by the State Government. Further development is proposed for a new housing estate occupying an area adjoining the Princes Highway formerly known as Dingley's Farm. Dingley's Farm was a dairy farming venture dating back a number of years. Stage 1 of 5 proposed stages for a housing development known as The Dairy has been completed and further stages are under the planning and approval stages.
