NSW Tourism
New South Wales is a leading tourist destination in Australia and is home to a multitude of tourist icons and destinations such as Sydney with its awesome Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
It also is endowed with some of the world’s best beaches of which Bondi Beach is probably the most famous. Sydney was home to the best Olympic Games ever in 2000 and its multitude of Sydney accommodation houses including Sydney hotels, motels self contained holiday apartments, backpacker hostels and the like were all upgraded and now present with every imaginable option that the traveller could require.
There is a multitude of other things to do in Sydney which include a visit to the fabulous Taronga Park Zoo or a ferry ride on the harbour to Manly or one of the other 100 or so destinations. A visit to the Blue Mountains is also only a short journey to the west.
Northern NSW
The North Coast of NSW is dotted with a multitude of must see destinations. Starting at the Gold Coast and travelling south, you will see beautiful beachside resort towns like Tweed Heads and Kingscliff, that are now provide some of the best northern New South Wales and south east Queensland accommodation. Further south, Byron Bay has the most superb beaches and hinterland and Coffs harbour is the capital of the central north coast.
The Central Coast offers some beautiful surf beaches like Terrigal & The Entrance. A little further north, just inland from Newcastle you will find the Hunter Valley, world renowned for the quality of its wines, restaurants & resorts. Port Stephens is another unforgettable coastal resort town once again featuring fabulous beaches, accommodation, restaurants and cafes.
Further north lies Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour both offer great facilities for a coastal holiday and the resorts are sensational. These two areas have a scenic hinterland featuring National Parks, magnificent forests and coastal mountain scenery. Travelling a little further north the tourist will find the weather slowly warming and will find the coastal resorts of Byron Bay,Tweed Heads and Kingscliff.
The beaches are legend and the quality of the resorts is unbeatable. Lying offshore from the mid north coast of New South Wales, are two magnificent islands that both attract tens of thousands of tourists. They are Lord Howe Island, often described as the most beautiful Island in the South Pacific, and Norfolk Island which is steeped in the early history of the Australian nation.
NSW South Coast
On the New South Wales South Coast you will find one of the most unforgettable coastal areas in the world. An endless string of beaches and headlands will take the tourist through many glorious towns and villages each with there own charm. Heading south from Sydney the traveller will pass through Wollongong, Kiama, Nowra, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma, Bermagui, Bega, Merimbula and Eden. Once again there is a range of great accommodation, restaurants, cafes, fabulous beaches and unforgettable scenery. Moving inland you will come to the nation’s capital city of Canberra. Everyone should visit this vibrant city which features a host of attractions, great accommodation and a host of beautiful restaurants and cafes.
To the South of Canberra lie the magnificent NSW Ski Fields, home to Australia’s major Ski Resort towns of Jindabyne, Thredbo Village, Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow & Charlottes Pass. In all of these place you’ll find Ski & Snow accommodation in abundance. The areas presents modern, world class ski fields featuring the best in accommodation, Ski lifts, restaurants and nightlife. The underground ski tube from Jindabyne will allow the keen skier to try the slopes in a different destination every day. Everything including top class equipment hire is available. The area can be accessed by air and connecting coach from Canberra or Cooma airports.
